ABOUT
When people cannot access medical and dental assistance, they feel discouraged and vulnerable. The Medical and Dental Mobile Unit Foundation (MDF) was founded in 2006 as a result of the tremendous determination of our members to alleviate the challenges faced by the poor and underprivileged and to improve their quality of life. The formation of the very first MDF was accomplished in only 6 months. Under its initial registration, MDF was formally known as Thai Medical and Dental Mobile Unit (Thai MDMU) but was later changed to Medical and Dental Mobile Unit of the Thai Private Dental Association. In 2012, the organization’s name became the Private Dental Association of Thailand (PDAT).
As our organization grew both in size and complexity, we re-structured as a foundation to facilitate our expanded operations. Consequently, in 2013, we officially transitioned to Medical and Dental Mobile Unit Foundation (MDF).
Throughout 14 years of activities by our members, sponsors and donors, MDF has seen constant growth. To date, our foundation has 200 dedicated members with 50 fully-equipped mobile dental chairs.

We offered onsite medical assistance from general check ups to specialized check ups in various departments, i.e., ophthalmology, dermatology, etc. Additionally, we extended our services to include acupressure and acupuncture with assistance from the Division of Complementary and Alternative Medicine and Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine from Ministry of Public Health. Our medicines were dispensed only with official prescriptions and were strictly monitored by pharmacists.
1,547 DENTAL PATIENTS
We offered a wide range of dental services including basic checkups, cleaning & scaling, fillings, extractions, partial and complete dentures, and teeth brushing tutorials for preventative purposes. We assisted in bringing good oral health and comfort to many people.
